Jessica
by Simon Asencio

Simon Asencio’s (France) practice addresses invisible choreographies, investigating the performative potential of conspiracy, hyper-camouflage, and invisible labour. Jessica is an extended performance piece of invisible labour, inviting background acting to concrete life events.

Jessica proposes her services to be employed in various contexts, events, productions, and venues; performing contracted tasks to fill in for a situation. In the past, Jessica has appeared as a theatre technician with chest tattoos, guest list manager at a nightclub, substitute of a curator, voice mail, passer-by, lady in the toilets, spectator, human press release, guest at a dinner, type-writer, live translator. For FLAM, Jessica is hired as the moderator of the panel talk between Anna Reutinger and Ellen Algera.
